Key Changes in Spring 2026
Clarification of data ownership principles: Municipalities and other organisations will be responsible for providing road and street data in the future, as well as ensuring the correctness and timeliness of the data.
Maintenance of stop data in Digiroad ended on 27 March 2026.
Stop data will be transferred to the new Stop and Accessibility Data Service (PETI) by 30 April 2026. The April dataset release (1/2026) of the Digitraffic Road Network (Digiroad) will be the last to include stop data.
Submission of street project notifications to Digiroad via the online form and the distribution of Digiroad maintenance reports to municipalities were discontinued on 1 January 2026.
Upcoming Key Changes
The current system and its interfaces will be decommissioned in September 2026. This will include, among other things, the end of support for the Infra-O interface. The current-format dataset will be published for the last time in August–September 2026. As part of this change, our communication channels will also be renewed.

The implementation of the replacement system for Digiroad, Digitraffic Road Network, will proceed gradually from the turn of the year 2027 onwards. At the same time, the VYYTI form will be replaced with a new form. The data models, data distribution, and interfaces of the new system will be implemented in accordance with the EU RTTI Regulation. Updates to interfaces and data models (DATEX II) may require organisations to update their systems and make changes to existing integrations. The Digitraffic Road Network service will publish new interface and data model descriptions and support stakeholders throughout the transition.
Stop and Accessibility Data Service PETI
In the future, stop data will be updated in the PETI system – Digiroad will no longer be used for maintenance purposes.
- Maintenance of stop data for all modes of transport will be centralised in the PETI system, which will become the national master database for stop data.
- The use of stop identifiers will be mandatory for all organisations producing stop data.
- Responsibility for data management will be transferred to the organisations; the Digiroad operator will no longer process datasets.
- The common European NeTEx model will be used as the data model for stops.

Current Information Sessions in Fintraffic’s Transport Data Ecosystem Working Groups
Several meetings will be organised during the spring within Fintraffic’s transport data ecosystem working groups. Links to the meetings and a downloadable calendar file for your own calendar can be found on Fintraffic’s website.
Working groups within the transport data ecosystem that are relevant for the Digitraffic Road Network include, for example:
- Road Traffic Data (Working Group 3)
- YTPA network promoting the development of private road data (subgroup of the Road Traffic Data working group)
- Stop Group (subgroup of Journey Information)
There is no need to register separately for individual working groups; you can join the meetings you are interested in via the links available on the website. You may also participate in multiple working groups.
