As an employer
What kind of a working place is the FTIA?
As a multi-field organization of transportation experts, the FTIA offers a vantage point for the skilled who want to develop further. You may already have, for example, a degree from a Technical, Regional, Civics, Economics, or Behavioral field.
The FTIA’s aim is to make functional, efficient, and safe journeys and transportations possible. Our important goal is also to ensure the operation and competitiveness of the Finnish business sector.
Our operation is responsible, efficient, and innovative. Our choices are made for the benefit of sustainable transport and travel, as well the society. We utilise knowledge and new technology to make safer, smoother, and more sustainable transport possible.
The FTIA has offices in Helsinki’s Pasila as well as in Lappeenranta, Turku, Tampere, Oulu, and Vaasa.
We take care of our staff by offering flexible working hours, a remote work option, Smartum’s exercise- and culture perks, travel expenses, and a subsidised work lunch as employee benefits.
The Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency is an excellent place of employment for competent people!
Apply for work
All vacancies of the FTIA are published on the Finnish Government's Shared Services website Valtiolle.fi. The recruiting system requires an electronic verification from applicants by using banking credentials, for example. The verification works as the applicant’s electronic signature, also protecting the sent personal data. The system will guide you to fill the application into a readymade form, the filling of which will require some time from the applicant. The exact format will bring out the applicant’s merits better in the comparisons. It will also speed up the recruiting process.
Based on the application material, we will invite the most competent applicants to interviews. These will be held either face to face or through Skype video connection.
We can also set up the first round of interviews by a video tool. The good thing about this is that you may retake the video as many times as you like, and send it to us when you’re satisfied with the end result.
In our recruitments, we also often employ a third-party suitability assessment. We always inform of these assessments during our interviews, and ask your willingness to take part.
We commission a security clearance of all the people we hire. This is done by Suojelupoliisi, the Finnish Security Intelligence Service. For more information, please visit their site.
