Changed vessel traffic services in the Archipelago Sea from 1st June

Published 6.6.2011

In the operational area of Archipelago VTS the number of reporting points has been decreased, the reporting obligations for island ferries have been changed and areas where meeting and overtaking is prohibited have been established in the channels. These changes came into effect on 1 June 2011 and have been confirmed by the establishment decision of the Ministry of Transport and Communications dated 26 April.

Since 1 June, the Finnish Transport Agency is also cooperating with the Port of Naantali. The administrative area of the Port of Naantali has been added to the VTS operational area, which means that vessel traffic services are provided up to the Port of Naantali quay. The procedure regarding permission to depart will also be implemented in the area.

The new Master's Guide of Archipelago VTS can be found on thevessel traffic services website.
