Self-service use. When approaching from below, the self-service starter cord (also a locking call during running of water through the lock) and instructions for its use are located at the end of the lower canal on the left, and when approaching from above these are on the top canal’s pier on the left immediately after the first bridge.

Please note: At times water is run through the canal to regulate water levels, which causes a dangerously high flow in the canal. Flashing red lights are used to warn of swiftly running water and the upper canal is closed with a beam to prevent boats from drifting into the lock If you enter the canal during the run-out, carefully fasten your vessel to the waiting pier and contact the operating personnel with the telephone located on the pier.
