Mooring: Three floating bollards on the north side of the lock chamber, one on the south side. Hanging ropes on the sides of the lock.

Difference in water level: 2.50 - 2.65 metres
The canal connects Leppävesi and Päijänne. The 250 m-long canal was built in 1990-93. Self-service lock with remote monitoring and access from Paatela.
When approaching from below, the self-service starter cord and instructions for its use are on the right side, when approaching from above, these are on the upper canal’s pier to the left. After starting the self-service, follow the instructions provided on the information board and light signs.
Flows are strong in both the lower and top canals.
